Southeast Ohio: the hills and the river counties
Southeast Ohio is Appalachian Ohio, and it's the hardest delivery terrain in the state: hollows, ridge roads, gravel lanes that climb like ski slopes, and tanks set wherever the ground allowed. Propane does nearly all the delivered-fuel work here — oil heat never took hold the way it did in the northeast — and the companies are mostly regional dealers who know every township road by name. Winter access is the whole ballgame: a good local driver with chains and judgment is worth more than a low quote from a company two counties away, and customers here learn to keep the tank fuller and order earlier than flatland folks do. If a lane is steep, tell the office when you order — it changes which truck they send.
