About this guide
The Ohio Fuel Finder is an independent publication about heating oil and propane delivery in Ohio — the delivery terms, fees, and habits of the industry that nobody explains to the person paying the bill.
Who writes it
The guides are written from working experience in Ohio fuel delivery — years of driving tank trucks and bobtails for fuel companies in this state, sitting in the same driveways our readers live on. When we explain why there's a minimum delivery, why a propane tank can only be filled by the company that owns it, or what happens inside a furnace when the tank runs dry, it's because we've stood next to the truck while those things were explained badly, or not at all, to a customer. We think the customer deserves the straight version.
What we are not
We are not a fuel company. We don't sell oil or propane, we don't dispatch trucks, and we can't take your order or quote you a price. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or owned by any company listed in the directory. A listing here is not a recommendation — it's a record of basic public facts. We publish no ratings and no reviews, and no company can pay for a better listing, a better position, or kinder words.
How listings are compiled
Each listing is built from public sources: the company's own website first, then established public directories and records. We include only what we can verify — company name, town, phone number and/or website as the source publishes them, the fuels the company says it delivers, and the service area the company states. If a detail can't be verified, we leave it out rather than guess. Companies merge, sell routes, and change numbers more often than you'd think, so listings can go stale: always confirm with the company before you rely on a listing, and tell us if you spot something wrong.
Corrections and removals
If you own or work for a listed company and something in your listing is wrong — a number changed, a fuel was dropped, a location closed — email us at ohiofuelfinder@gmail.com with the correction and a link to where the correct information is published. We'll verify it against a public source and fix it. If you'd rather not be listed at all, say so in the same email and we'll remove the listing. No fee, no argument, no forms.
How the site pays its bills
Running a website costs a little money. This site may carry plainly-labeled advertising in the future. Advertising would never change a listing, a guide, or a fact — and if a company ever pays for a clearly-marked sponsored placement, it will say "Sponsored" on it, in the open.
